Thanks for visiting my website. I am Alison, the AJ in AJ Behaviour Solutions!
I am a qualified animal behaviourist, living in Bedfordshire with my rehomed cockapoo. Having owned both cats and dogs, I am well aware of the journey our pets take us on. I believe very strongly, that by understanding more about how our pets tick - how they learn, what their natural behaviours are and how they adapt to living with us in the modern world, we can help them lead good quality lives.
I hold an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln with distinction and have completed the APDT dog instructor foundation and advanced courses. I am a qualified teacher and a number of years of experience assisting and delivering dog training using only ethical methods based on proven scientific research about how dogs learn.
I provide training sessions using force- free, positive methods to dog owners who want a one to one experience to start or continue their dog's journey, developing life skills and behaviours for modern day living. One to one sessions are a great idea if classes aren't for you, or your dog, or you wish to have sessions completely tailored to your individual dogs needs.
I abide by the code of practice set out by the Association for Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the rules and regulations of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). Both organisations are at the forefront of ensuring that pet professionals put animal welfare at the centre of their practice. In practice this means I only use methods backed by science which are ethical, kind and effective.
I am fully insured for dog training services with Pet Business Insurance.
